83 gram-negative bacterial pathogens, resulting in increased drug potency. Tulathromycin has shown high efficacy against the common bacterial causes of respiratory disease in cattle and swine: It is rapidly released from the injection site, promoting early achievement of inhibitory concentrations in lung tissue. Furthermore, extensive tissue penetration and slow release from tissue provide extended lung concentrations and prolonged duration of activity against target bacteria. Draxxin is approved in the European Union for the treatment and prevention of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) associated with Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni (Haemophilus somnus), and Mycoplasma bovis sensitive to tulathromycin CLINICAL RELEVANCE
